The Lions Basketball Academy was started to give Western Sydney a fresh and affordable alternative to basketball training and coaching. We combine latest coaching methodologies with talented expert coaches that provide encouragement and ENTHUSIASM so players are engaged, growing and having FUN.

Our Coaches
Coach AJ
Meet Coach AJ, the visionary founder and director of Lions Basketball Academy. With over a decade coaching domestically and a remarkable five years in representative coaching, Coach AJ has led teams to Division 1 victories and triumphs in the State Cup. As the architect of the Aussie Hoops program for three years, he’s passionately dedicated to ensuring kids not only learn basketball but thoroughly enjoy the game. Actively involved in Basketball NSW, Coach AJ is a mentor, leader, and the driving force behind our commitment to the joy of the game, skill development, and the spirit of camaraderie.
Coach Danny
Introducing Coach Danny, a highly skilled and passionate basketball enthusiast. Currently playing at the U18’s representative level, Coach Danny, standing tall as a big man, brings firsthand knowledge of success for players of stature. His coaching style blends fun with a wealth of game knowledge. Join Coach Danny for an enjoyable journey where skills soar and the love for basketball grows.
Coach Marvin
Meet Coach Marvin, a seasoned coach with a profound understanding of skill development and game strategies. His passion for basketball is infectious, making him an incredible mentor. As a senior coach at LBA, Coach Marvin is not only dedicated to the game but also to bringing out the best in everyone involved. Beyond the court, he’s known for his culinary skills, adding a flavorful touch to our basketball community.
Coach Arjun
Meet Coach Arjun, a recent addition to our coaching lineup at LBA. An incredible individual, Coach Arjun embraces the challenges of in-game coaching with enthusiasm. With an impressive 80% win record, he’s adept at guiding our young athletes through the game. Coach Arjun is passionate about team building, consistently bringing out the best in every player. Coach Ryan
Introducing Coach Ryan, a dual-threat in both playing and coaching with a passion for the game. Remarkably, at just 18, he possesses an incredible coaching mind. Having triumphed over injuries, Coach Ryan embodies resilience, ready to guide players on the journey to peak performance and body care. Full of energy in training and games, he’s the youthful dynamo you want by your side.
Coach Ciya
Meet Coach Ciya, the driving force behind our junior girls’ teams. Passionate and dedicated, she’s a stellar mentor for young athletes, creating a space where they can relate and thrive. Coach Ciya’s expertise extends from skill development to educating on game rules and strategies. With experience training kids aged 8 to 17, she’s committed to shaping the future stars of the game.
